This website is build to support product development for textile based materials. It therefore provides a database of already realized material structures of textile based materials open for others to use them in a rapid prototyping process.
In addition it provides an approach on how to start with finding the right problem to solve and prototyping material properties through an iterative design practice.
Materials
4D Textiles are fabrics and textile products being able to change shape and function over time. This change is achieved by the complex interaction between hybrid materials and by the use of external stimulus.
To generate this structures we use 3D printing on prestressed textiles.
